Returns / Complaints

We do not accept returns of ordered items, particularly as our shower systems are personal care products and come into direct contact with the skin (hygiene). Before shipping, the shower systems and accessories are checked once again to ensure they are of impeccable quality. Answers to your questions
How often should I charge the battery?

A full battery charge lasts approximately 3 weeks with regular use of the shower system superior and 6 weeks for the shower system standard. A charger is included in the package. It takes around 5 hours to fully charge the battery, which is indicated by the charger. The battery’s lifespan is between 4 and 5 years. As you can see, maintaining and looking after the Aglaja shower system requires minimal effort. Effortless enjoyment!
I have a shower rail. Can I use it?

The Aglaja shower system comes with a 160 cm long oval rail. Your existing shower rail cannot be used with the massage brush, as standard shower rails are designed to hold shower heads, but not to withstand the pressure exerted during an Aglaja massage. The rotational force of the powerful motor would cause standard shower rails to twist.

Another important point is the 160 cm length of the rail. This allows you to massage your hips and knees as well. Normal shower rails, on the other hand, measure between 90 and 110 cm and are usually mounted at the top of the shower wall, which would not always even allow you to massage the lower back.

Once you have used the shower system on your hips and knees as well, you will realise just how beneficial the brush massage is for these parts of the body.
How do I install the Aglaja shower system?

You have two options:

  • Replace the existing shower rail with the Aglaja rail, or
  • Install the shower system as a separate unit, i.e. mount the Aglaja system, for example, on the wall to the left or right of the existing shower rail.

You’ll find some examples in the installation photos. 50 % of our customers replace the rail, whilst 50 % install the system separately. Both installation methods are very straightforward, as the battery-powered motor is self-contained and no plumbing is required.
Do I need to drill holes to fit the Aglaja shower system?

Not necessarily! You can fit the Aglaja shower system using the Fastening technology without driling (adhesive kit). It’s brilliant and we highly recommend it!

This means you can carry out the fitting yourself and avoid installation costs.
Will it stay in place without drilling?

Yes, it will! We’re amazed by it ourselves.

When using the no-drill mounting method, there are two points to bear in mind:

  • The surface must be clean and free from grease.
  • The surface must be solid.

If these conditions are met, it will hold just as securely as if it were screwed in.

And… another advantage: the drill-free mounting system can also be removed without leaving any residue. We recommend using adhesive on all delicate surfaces such as glass, marble, granite, etc. It’s also a major advantage in rented accommodation if the shower system can be removed without leaving any residue when moving out and reinstalled at the new location with minimal effort. Once you’ve used this brilliant technique for the first time, you’ll never want to drill again.
Do I need a professional to install it?

If you’re handy, installation isn’t a big problem and you can do it yourself.

For a DIY installation, the ‘no-drilling’ method using the Fastening technology without drilling is very popular. If you’re planning a renovation or a new build, the shower system can also be fitted by the plumber on site. Alternatively, we offer installation by one of our specialists for a flat fee of CHF 140 in Switzerland.
Where does the Aglaja shower system come from?

It was developed in-house. Bruno Oberli developed the Aglaja shower system in collaboration with innovative partners.

Bruno Oberli himself describes how the idea came about: “I was doing very physically demanding work and often suffered from severe back and shoulder problems – that is, tension and pain. I noticed that the pain would ease when I took a long, hot shower. That’s when it occurred to me that a massage whilst showering would be the ideal solution. I wanted to buy a massage device of this kind. Nothing suited me, and that’s how the development and subsequent production began.
Where is the shower system manufactured?

The shower systems are manufactured in Switzerland. Almost all the suppliers are based in Switzerland. Most of them are assembled in a sheltered workshop on the Uetendorfberg. This is a community where deaf people and people with disabilities live and work together. We are very proud to work with these people and to help maintain valuable jobs in Switzerland.
What brush stiffness is recommended to start with?

The brush included in the shower kit has standard-thickness bristles. It feels very soft to the touch. However, due to the rotating motion and on more sensitive areas such as the back, it may suddenly feel more intense. Product tests carried out in several households have shown that it is recommended to use the standard brush to begin with, and to choose a firmer brush if necessary later on.

There are three different brush bristle thicknesses:

  • Standard (soft) bristles, included in the shower kit
  • Hard bristles
  • Extra-soft bristles for very sensitive skin
Doesn’t this use far too much water?

With the Aglaja shower system, you won’t necessarily use more water. You can enjoy a dry brush massage before your shower, which will give you excellent results! Alternatively, you can enjoy a soap-and-brush massage whilst showering, just as the ancient Romans used to do.

Brushing the skin is very effective for promoting good health, as it stimulates the metabolism and blood circulation. Don’t forget: the skin is our largest organ, so taking good care of it is by no means a luxury.
